The Emergency

Families are displaced with nowhere safe to go.

When families in Lebanon are forced from their homes, many end up in overcrowded apartments, unfinished buildings, or makeshift tents. Privacy, sanitation, and basic safety are often missing.

Children sleep on floors, parents have no secure place for their belongings, and families are constantly at risk from weather and violence.

Safe Shelters provides a way to quickly place families in simple, durable homes—so they can sleep, regroup, and plan their next steps in safety.

The Safe Shelter Solution

  • Rapid deployment — Shelters are prebuilt in standard containers and can be delivered and set up in days.
  • Capacity — Each unit houses 12–15 people, keeping extended families together under one roof.
  • Safe and weatherproof — Insulated walls, secure doors and windows, and lockable storage protect families and their belongings.
  • Healthy sanitation — Integrated eco-toilet systems and clean water design reduce disease and protect dignity.
  • Moveable and reusable — Units can be relocated as needed, serving different communities over decades.

Implementation & Credibility

Led by experienced local partners.

Safe Shelters is led by Fouad Masri and partners with local churches, NGOs, and community leaders in Lebanon who understand the culture, the needs, and the realities on the ground.

Our team oversees site selection, delivery, setup, and family placement to ensure that shelters go where they are most needed and are stewarded well for long-term use.

Long-term Vision

From crisis housing to long-term stability.

In the short term, Safe Shelters provide immediate, safe housing so families can recover from shock and trauma. Over time, these units can be repositioned, repurposed, or integrated into more permanent housing solutions.

Our long-term vision is to see families move from displacement to stability and eventually to home ownership, using Safe Shelters as a bridge—not a permanent camp.
